Alvechurch v Sporting Khalsa Postponed

This evening's Midland Premier League game between promotion contenders Alvechurch and Sporting Khalsa has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Several Hereford FC supporters were hoping to have watched the game.

Meanwhile Alvechurch manager Ian Long has called for an extension to the season because of all the wet weather recently.

"It's frustrating for us because we already have a lot of games to play and there seems no let up in the rain," Long told the Bromsgrove Advertiser.

"Only Hereford and Loughborough University have the facilities to cope with the rain and that's unfair on the rest of the league.

"It's only sensible for the league to extend the season for another week just to help us."

In response Hereford FC football secretary Martin Watson has pointed out that although Hereford have had less games called off they still have 20 games to play. That number could rise to as many as 27 if the club makes the finals of various Cup competitions.
