Financial Impact Of Playing At Edgar Street Is Huge Says Brocton Manager

Brocton manager David Berks has said that the money from the FA Vase game at Edgar Street in two weeks time will be a huge boost to the club. He thinks his club could earn £7000 from the gate.

"It is one that everyone involved with the club will be looking forward to – although I would have preferred a home tie against lower league opposition,"Berks told the Staffordshire Newsletter.

"It's possibly the hardest draw we could have had before the draw goes national in the next round.

"In terms of the financial impact, this is huge. We are trying our best to gain funds for a kitchen and hospitality unit, and the funds that will come from the gate will be a boost."

The last time the clubs met Hereford won 4-0 but Berks feels Brocton have a stronger team at present.

"We will go there with a far stronger team and squad than when we played them last," he said.
"One factor that is an unknown is how the lads will react to playing in front of nearly 3,000 fans.

"There are probably only two or three players in the squad who would have that experience and I will consider this with my selection.

"I will be clear to the players, this isn't little Brocton going for a day out.

"We are going to compete, put on a professional performance and go with the aim of winning the tie and progressing to the last 32."
