"Liquidation Could Be The Next, Necessary Step..."

Today's Metro covers the Hereford United situation, reflecting the plight against that of AFC Wimbledon.

With the reborn Dons facing Liverpool in the FA Cup Third Round, a rematch of the 1988 Cup Final: 'the soul of the club that lifted the FA Cup 27 seasons ago is alive and thriving thanks to the love and determination of the fans that formed the clubthat is AFC Wimbledon in 2002.

'To then, and loyal fans of any other club, the lineage is obvious and that the tie with Liverpool is a famous rematch should not be in dispute. This should give heart to another club with a famous FA Cup pedigree who, after years in the doldrums, appeared to hit rock-bottom this week.'

'Stuck in the depressingly familiar mire of owners, past owners and associates of owners with past more chequered than a Formula One steward's flag, Hereford have been hurtling down skid row for some time.'

'For those that refuse to recognise the current car crash as the club they love, liquidation could be the next, necessary step towards a rebirth, with those who act out of love and loyalty in charge.'
