HUST Comment On Today's Events At Court

HUST vice-chairman Martin Watson has commented about today's proceedings at the High Court to BBC Hereford and Worcester.

In particular Watson asked why chairman Andy Lonsdale, who has promised to put in £1M, couldn't have done this months ago.

"I don't think we have moved forward at all today," said Watson.

"We just get these continual promises of investment. They come and go.

"We were told two weeks ago that investment was secured and that the club would continue.

"That investment was never identified so there was no abuse towards that investment because we never knew who it was and now it's disappeared.

"Quite frankly to accuse the fans of making a second investment go away within an hour - that wasn't a very solid investment in my opinion.

"I've said for a long time there are two ways to sort this out either put the money in or shut the club down.  Limping on from adjournment to adjournment is not good for anybody.

"If Andy Lonsdale is going to put the money to clear the debts that's fine.

"But I've got one question for him - why didn't he do it in June when the Conference wanted a bond.

"He could have put that money in.

"HUST as a body is prepared to talk once the terms of the boycott have been met.

"There is a lot of anger from individual fans and that's not something HUST can realistically deal with because it's individual opinions.

"There are a lot of people who have been shouted at and abused.

"We go back to the voicemails from last week which the club said were fake and then at the weekend Lonsdale says we know who it is.

"So they obviously were not fake.

"On the audio (played earlier) Lonsdale was threatening to ban a fan, that shouldn't happen.

"This is a small club and the club should be putting its hand out for every fan.

"They need them for this club to be successful. Every fan needs to be involved.

"The boycott stands until the debts are paid.

"Hopefully Andy Lonsdale is a man of his word and this football club continues.

"If that happens and he pays the money there are a lot of bridges to be rebuilt by the club."
