Another Lonsdale Statement

Hereford United chairman Andy Lonsdale has released a statement this evening:

Firstly may I thank those of you that attended Saturday's game at Edgar Street. I am sure everyone enjoyed excellent 4-1 win, and on the back of the 5-1 at Banbury and 2-1 at Totton we are now seeing the promise within the side bearing fruit on the field.

We watched with interest the reaction to the statement issued on Friday. It was noted that the bulk of this was largely ignored, however, from our perspective it reinforced the conclusions we have made concerning the attitude and reasoning behind some fans refusal to support the football club. We are in no doubt that when the debt's have been cleared another raft of demands will be made in order to maintain the boycott against the club. A number of high profile members of the organisation behind the boycott have provided clear evidence that this will occur, mainly in comments on the various social media available to them.

No matter. The decision to concentrate solely on the business at hand was made in light of the above knowledge, and we continue to push forward now clearly understanding the route we have to follow.

A great deal of furore erupted around monies outstanding to certain individuals. The club therefore request those to contact the football club chairman at andy@herefordunited.co.uk with full details of monies claimed, and proofs to support these claims.

We think that any reasonable person will understand the complexities involved in resolving the financial arrangements made before we arrived, again, it is worth remembering the amount already spent on historical debt is at £250k+ following the council payment, a rather different position than the impression being given by others.

Finally it is important for Hereford United supporters to understand we remain committed to both resolving the financial issues we face, and rebuilding the team.

We have a busy week ahead both on and off the pitch, and again look forward to your support,
