The Last 24 Hours Have Been Barmy Says Kenyon

Herefordshire Council’s attempted repossession of Edgar Street Thursday night was the second item on BBC Midland’s Today show at 6.30pm this evening. Cllr Jim Kenyon was present and was interviewed by Midlands Today's Dan Pallett.

First Pallett questioned what the past 24 hours had been like for Kenyon as a football supporter:
“It’s been barmy. I woke up this morning and you think what’s been going on for the past five or six months at the club is finally over.
“To try and find out what was going on I went down to the council offices, but to frustration to still not know what was going on.”

Dan Pallett then noted that no one from the football club was present to defend themselves, some protestors reportedly saw Neil Phelps leaving the club on a bike before 6 o’clock.
When faced with the viewpoint that perhaps chairman Andy Lonsdale does have the funds available as the club paid the £52k, Kenyon replied:

“Seven times they’ve been to court just for another adjournment. These guys here (the protesting fans in the background) and a lot of fans out there need closure.

“They (the club’s owners) aren’t talking to the fans. What you’ve got to remember is that you come here as a kid with your dad and your granddad and then you come here with your grandchildren, and that’s what the club means."
