Shareholders Told Club Likely To Fold September 1st

This morning's Shareholders meeting to discuss the CVA took place despite yesterday's rejection of the proposal by creditors.

Insolvency Practitioner Marc Landsman was joined at the top table by John Edwards and Elke Thuerlings, but chairman Andy Lonsdale was not present until he appeared at the back of the room late into the meeting.

With the meeting being a formality only around 25 shareholders attended, with Landsman telling the audience that the club would enter compulsory liquidation on September 1st.

There were doubts as to whether the next two matches would go ahead, with Edwards saying that they were yet to decide, but - as voting was taking place - Keith Dodd announced to the room that a call had been placed to the FA and the matches would go ahead. He also said that a bus was running to Dorchester at a cost of £20.

Landsman confirmed Tommy Agombar only did due diligence on the club after purchase, adding "going into a company without doing due diligence should be illegal".

Landsman called on all fans to work together to build a new club, saying that today's meeting "was the end of a very long history". Edwards told the room that a formal announcement from the club would not come until Monday, with a number of discussions to be had over the weekend.
