Scott: Shots Have Big Weekend

Aldershot boss Andy Scott has called on their fans to roar the club to safety during their game with Salisbury on Friday, telling their official site:

“We need the ground to be rocking on Friday. If there’s one match you’re going to come to this year, make sure it’s Salisbury. The fans at Macclesfield realised that we’re fighting tooth and nail. They gave us their backing and we need our home fans too. They’ve been terrific all season. They can give us that extra edge and if we play as well as we have done at times over the last three games, then we’ve got a lot of confidence going into that game.

“We’ve got a big weekend coming up now, but after what everyone probably look at as a really tough week where we’d do well to get anything out of it, we’ve come out with four points and got ourselves out of the bottom four."

The Shots have doubts over the fitness of striker Adam Mekki, who was withdrawn on Saturday after being dazed by a collision, but top scorer Brett Williams is back after suspension. The 21 goal forward replaced Mekki and netted a last-minute penalty in that game that moved the Shots out of the bottom four.

The Shots travel to in-form Woking for a 1pm derby match on Monday, before facing the Bulls at the Rec on the final day.
