Darts To Keep On Trying

Dartford boss Tony Burman has told his players to keep on trying after getting an unlikely chance of survival.

The Darts failed to win in 12 games across three months before taking 10 points from 12 in February and winning three games since to claw their way back into contention to stay up. Burman told the local press: "We’ve done tremendously well to get back into it. You’ve still got to believe that you can get out of it.

"From the Welling away game, January 10 on a Friday night, we got a draw there and the guys started to believe a little bit. The players who hadn’t been playing that well, all of a sudden, they started to play well.

"You can’t hide the fact that the second half of the season has been decent. We’ve had to catch up on a lot of points and we’ve done that. The guys have done all right and it’s been a tremendous effort to keep us in touch. We’ve got to keep trying and keep our heads up."

Dartford face play-off chasers Braintree away tomorrow, before a home game with Tamworth and a final day game at mid-table Nuneaton.
