Burr Prefers Players To Positions

Chester boss Steve Burr says he will pick the players that are most likely to win them the points, rather than the ones that will fit a formation, for their derby match with Wrexham.

The former Kiddy boss has won 39% of his games in charge of the side, with predecessor Neil Young having won just 15%, having brought a total of 13 new faces to the club since taking over.

Burr will have to deal with the loss of defender Michael Kay, with Burr telling the local press: “It’s a massive blow to lose Michael because he’s been playing really well but that’s how it’s gone for us this season.

“We have got three games to go and it’s in our hands. We have managed to keep ourselves out of the bottom four but this is crunch time now.

"There will be nothing better than beating Wrexham. I am a believer that formations don’t win you matches, players win you matches and we will pick the players that will give us the best chance of getting the win.”

Chester also travel to Cambridge on Monday, before entertaining Salisbury on the final day.
