Accrington's 1-0 loss at Shrewsbury sees them slip to 20th, with Northampton also slipping down the table.
At the top Crawley are now eight points inside the automatic promotion zone, and Southend six, with Shrewsbury up to third. Morecambe slip to fourth after sacrificing a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with Rotherham, with Cheltenham slipping below Oxford after their 1-0 home loss to Crewe.
