Hereford game the priority says Carey

Wrexham manager Brian Carey is looking forward to the visit to the Racecourse of Hereford United next Saturday. Last evening Wrexham were defeated 5-0 by Aston Villa in the Carling Cup but Carey says the Hereford game was always the priority.

"That has been the priority of the week and it reflected in the team selection as well. Hereford was always more important than last night," said Carey as reported by the Wrexham Leader.

"It is easy for me to say that now but that is the truth.

"One or two took a few knocks on Saturday so that's why they were missing. But it does not excuse what happened in the second half which was bitterly disappointing."

Meanwhile at Bristol Rovers former Bull Andy Williams scored late in the game but West Ham won the cup-tie 2-1.
