News Round Up

York have released nine players following their play-off failure. 13 have been offered new deals, including star midfielder Emmanuel Panther. Torquay have told head coach Keith Curle to apply for the managers job if he wants it. The club have announced a press conference for tomorrow to make 'major announcements', with Leroy Rosenior emerging as favourite for the managers job.

Chester are to prune their squad so that new manager Bobby Williamson can bring in new faces under the wage cap. First out the door is striker Drewe Broughton, who had 12 months remaining but has negotiated a released. Also definitely departing is former assistant manager Graham Barrow, also agreeing a settlement on his remaining 12 months despite hinting at doing a youth coaching role.

Bristol Rovers have offered professional contracts to seven graduates of their Centre of Excellence and the scheme run in conjunction with Filton College. Cambridge United have signed former Canvey hotshot Lee Boylan on a free transfer. Boylan broke goalscoring records in the Ryman League but scored just three in 16 games for Grays last season.

Kidderminster boss Mark Yates has been fined £350 and given a four game touchline ban for headbutting Exeter winger Lee Elam during a game in February. The club have released five players, including ex-Bull Jake Sedgemoor and Luke Reynolds. Reynolds burst onto the Conference scene last year, causing problems with his no-nonsence style in a match at Edgar Street, but failed to cement his place in the side.

Scott Tynan has been called into the final England National Game XI squad for the Four Nations tournament. The former Bulls loanee is currently without a club after being released by Rushden. The exodus of Boston players is expected shortly with Francis Green issuing a come and get me plea to any Football League club, adding that the bulk of their remaining 15 professionals are looking for other clubs after not being paid for 3 months.

Cardiff have released 12 players at the end of their contracts, and placed three more on the transfer list. The released players is mostly young professionals who failed to make a significant impact on the first team.
