Two Inspections at Edgar Street

To be able to join the Football League, Hereford United must have two inspections according to Graham Turner.

The first inspection by the Football League at Edgar Street has already taken place but the second is yet to take place. This time the inspection will be by the Football Licensing Authority which will also include the police, the environmental officer from the local authority, our safety officer and officials from the club.

Turner told the Hereford Times about the first visit.

"Following interviews in the boardroom, a contingent from the Football League went out with tape measures to carry out a thorough inspection of the ground, including measuring dressing rooms, the pitch size and the distance between the touch-lines and the perimeter wall.

"We have to produce a structural engineer's report on the state of the ground and there is an electrical inspection of floodlighting and power, as well as all the other technical and legal aspects, including the leases."

It is the issue of the leases that could hold matters up.

"We are seeking an urgent resolution of the leases issue. While we believe we have plenty of time to sort it all out, nonetheless we cannot afford to waste that time. And that is one aspect that is out of our hands," continued Turner.

"In the meantime, discussions continue with our development partners, the Richardsons, and, although it seems a long drawn out procedure, we would hope over the next few months that some announcement over future plans can be made."
